Trash and recycling collection responsibilities are now provided by MTG Disposal, LLC.(MEGA Disposal). They will continue to provide curbside garbage and recycling collection  to over 9,300 households. Please refer to the Sanitation Page for more information.

 (Trash and recycling bins must be placed on curb by 6:00 a.m.)

The Department of Public Works has many responsibilities:
 
  • Repairing and maintaining town roads, town-owned sidewalks and public properties
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Collection of all white goods and yard waste

 

The following services are handled at the Department of Public Works:

 

  • Drop off motor oil (residents only) no businesses!
  • Drop off yard waste (residents only) - no businesses!
  • Drop off oversized cardboard 
  • Drop off hard plastics
  • Drop off tires
  • Drop off paint
  • Drop off scrap metal
  • Purchase white goods stickers:
  • Premium service-$25.00 
  • Drop off/no Freon- FREE
  • Drop off/Freon- $25.00
  • Mattresses and Box Springs:
  • Premium service-$20.00
  • Drop off- FREE ( Limit of 5 Mattresses per fiscal year & 3 per day) any additional is a charge of $20.00 per item. All mattresses or box springs must be bagged prior to pickup or drop off. (bags available for purchase for $4.00 at the DPW office)
  • MATTRESSES NOT ACCEPTED AS RECYCLABLE ARE:

    • Excessively wet or frozen
    • severely twisted, punctured or crushed
    • extremely soiled or moldy
    • Items infested with bed bugs
    • a $50.00 disposal  fee will be charged for non recyclable mattresses and box springs. Residents must check in the with DPW secretary before drop off.
  • Electronics Waste: Drop off for free in our electronics pod located alongside the other recyclable materials dumpsters. Please refer to the recycling page for a list of accepted materials. 

 

Please mark your lawn with yard markers to help prevent damage from snow plowing.
