Economic Development

Your Business is Our Business!

West Warwick prides itself on supporting local businesses. We believe that the Town’s role is to help businesses to succeed and to eliminate unnecessary barriers (regulatory or otherwise) that slow progress and growth. To do that we offer a single point of contact with Town Planner/Economic Development Coordinator, Marilyn Shellman.  No business is too large or too small. The planner is here to assist businesses through all phases of business development, funding and permitting.  We will work hard to understand your business so that we can get you the assistance you need. The Town wants to be a partner in your business success. When your business succeeds, the whole Town wins.

Start-up Support: Have a new business or even just an idea, we can help you move it from concept to reality. Give us a call and we will help you make your idea a reality.

Funding Assistance: We can connect you to the resources you need to fund your business. Whether it’s a new business or an existing business that is looking to grow or just needs a little help through a difficult time, there are resources available to help you. We will coordinate with State, Federal and private funding resources to get you the financing you need.

Regulatory, Permitting and License Assistance: Depending on your business and location, there may be many approvals that you need to operate your business. We can help you navigate the system and get your business moving. We will help you schedule a single meeting with all key town departments (planning, zoning, building, fire and sewer) so that you will get the information you need regarding submission building requirements needed to get you operation up and running.

The bottom-line is we are here to help you and your business succeed. Give a call or stop by. Our door is always open!
