Emergency Managment Agency

 

The duty of the West Warwick EMA Director is to coordinate and direct the planning, organization, control, and implementation of local emergency management activities. Additional duties and activities include the following:

  • Coordinate with community officials and with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) as necessary to ensure the effective administration of the emergency management program.
  • Manage, operate, and maintain the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
  • Establish and maintain agency emergency policies and communication procedures for all West Warwick employees and volunteers.
  • Coordinate, develop, and implement the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for the Town of West Warwick.
  • Prepare and distribute disaster preparedness material to the citizens of West Warwick.
  • Coordinate the actions and uses of West Warwick assets during emergency exercises and actual occurrences of natural disasters.
